About Fresh Wave

The reason I started this blog is because I am a HUGE fan of 80's classic alternative music. I also like 90's grunge and current alternative music today as well. However, I feel like these great 80's artists who have influenced the majority of alternative bands in the 90's and today have not been given the respect they deserve.

It seems like in the middle of the 2000's, there was an insurgence of 80's artists reuniting, either with all original members or at least some of the originals, to capture those glory days in the past. Some even went on to put out new music along with playing live shows. Unfortunately, there isn't a place on either FM or Satellite radio to hear these artists' new music. Sure, there are bands that never disbanded, like The Cure and Depeche Mode, which have been able to be successful in playing large venues and selling lots of albums. They even get their new music played on FM and Satellite radio stations shortly after being released, but then get put to the wayside for younger, newer bands.

Some of the new music has been really good and it's a shame these artists are not getting the airplay nor the album sales they should. That's why I put this blog together to pay homage to these amazing bands and get their new music out there. Hopefully, this might help a little to get their music played again on alternative radio stations like it should.

I hope you enjoy this blog and feel free to post any information, experiences, photos, etc. of your favorite artists. Enjoy!
